The Chorley group walk has now become an established part of the groups calendar. It traditionally starts and ends at the Rivington Village Bowling Club.
Nestled on the north embankment of the Rivington reservoir the Rivington Bowling Club, bar and tea room is steeped in local history at the heart of this area of outstanding natural beauty, there is no better place to relax after a good walk.
Paul Snape and Alan Hurst are the architects of the event which this year went over rolling woodlands, past picturesque reservoirs to Liverpool Castle (a folly built as a ruin). A perfect place for a stroll or a dog walk.
Beautiful scenery and fresh air without a car or any traffic to be seen.
The day was gloriously, sunny and warm a perfect day for a walk in the park.
