Wilderswood Chapter No 5932 hosted a curry themed night at Ridgmont House in Horwich.
The evening was organised by the Chapter’s First Principal, Peter Schofield with assistance from John Dawber. The duo are instrumental in arranging very fine themed cuisine nights at Ridgmont House and this event offered the Companions and their guests a mouth-watering selection of Asian delights!
Amongst the guests was Peter Lockett, the Chorley Group Chairman accompanied by his wife, Pam. The hall had been decorated with an Asian theme so the scene was set for a delightful evening banquet.
John Dauber welcomed every one and thanked them for coming along as the first course of poppadum’s arrived at the table with a selection of dips and sauces. Next, some snacks of samosas, Kebabs and chicken skewers were served to the guests. A little later everyone was invited to the buffet for the main course which had everything on offer to suit all tastes be it fiery and spicy or mild and creamy.
These tasty and authentic dishes were expertly prepared by Ridgmont’s Chef and his team, served with a selection of rice, breads and of course Ridgmont’s finest homemade chips.
Finally a delightful mango cheese cake was served to round off a fantastic and enjoyable meal.
Allan Shields then conducted a raffle the ‘Chorley way’ which raised £126 for The Chapter’s Charity funds. There was a good selection of prizes that the Companions of Wilderswood Chapter had donated including fine wines and biscuits. Money raised by the Chapter will benefit both Masonic and non Masonic charities in the Horwich area.
Every one present had a most enjoyable evening.
Peter Schofield received a round of applause from all the guests for his hard work in organising a really great event. Peter mentioned that both Ridgmont Mark Lodge and The Royal Ark Mariners Lodge also have similar evenings planned on Chinese and International themes which he will be announcing the dates of shortly, check out the group Calendar found on the Chorley website for further information and how to book a place on one of these unmissable events.
