Jaws poised, in the Robert Shaw

Members of the Chorley Blues Brothers, who meet at Brookfield Hall, in Westhoughton, shared a night out in a local town centre public house.

And it was well attended – with around 30 light blues. Including a few partners as well. With just a few invited dark blues, thrown in for good measure.

A nice change of venue, away from the normal Masonic Hall. An informal setting for the light blues to socialise. And this was the first jaunt from the Westhoughton section of the light blue club. But more are surely to follow soon.

They met in the Robert Shaw, a local Wetherspoon pub in Westhoughton, aptly named, as are all the Wetherspoon establishments, with something of local significance.

Jaws were wagged, jars sailed to lips and sunk, and the bond of unity was there for all to see.

The conversation even veered away from Masonic chatter. Including the inevitable question, who’s Robert Shaw? There was a queue to answer that one.
