Another double at Westhoughton

It was another hard day’s night worked by the companions of Westhoughton Chapter No 4215 when yet another two candidates were exalted into the supreme degree of Royal Arch Masonry.

On opening the chapter, first principal Stuart Wilson called upon the members to stand and honour the passing of long standing member and stalwart of the chapter John Cooper, who had sadly passed to higher service during the summer recess.

Once the initial chapter business was concluded, acting principal sojourner Russell Green retired from the chapter to entrust the candidates and ascertain their proficiency in the former degrees. Russell was ably assisted in the proceedings by Derek English and Stewart Rothwell

Azeez Amosun and Simon Isherwood were then admitted and exalted in fine style by the respective officers under the steely direction of Phil Hallinan, the chapter director of ceremonies. Gilbert Pierce was once again at his superb best in his delivery of the mystical lecture.

On completion of the convocation, the companions retired in garrulous mood to enjoy a fine festive board and good companionship as the evening drew to a close. A triple treat for all concerned!
