Fun at Chorley and District Bowling Tournament

The Chorley and District Group Bowling tournament, which was filled with lots of fun and games, was once again held at the picturesque Rivington Bowling Club. The venue, which is situated very close to Rivington Reservoir, is always popular, both for its glorious scenery and enticing coffee shop.

There was a great turn-out to compete for the four trophies on offer including members, guests and partners alike. The sun did not quite break through but an overcast and warm day provided ideal conditions for both competitors and spectators to enjoy the day.

After an enjoyable days bowling, the ladies’ event was won by Kath Schofield who beat Alison English in a very sociable and friendly final.

The Blues Brothers trophy was competed over a round robin format with the eventual winner being Jason Halstead.

Jayson Jackson was awarded the Masters and First Principals Trophy and Peter Schofield was crowned the Chorley Group winner after his final victory over Ken Olive.

The event was immensely enjoyed by all who attended and thanks go to David Parker, assisted by Jayson Jackson, for the organisation and endeavour in making the day run smoothly.
