Brookfield Lodge secretary Phil Johnson organised a whisky tasting evening at Brookfield Hall in Westhoughton, which was hosted by Dream Drams.
Dream Drams have been bottling one-off special cask whiskies for over 10 years.
The evening got underway with a 21 year old cask strength whisky from the Speyside Distillery. A mere 55.7%. The host for the evening, Mr Paul Smith, the owner and founder of Dream Drams, invited the guests to try the malt straight, and then use the water provided to bring it in line with the lesser strength malts everyone is used to.
The second bottle was a 21 year old cask strength from the Tobermory distillery.
There was a short break for a potato pie supper, followed by 3 more tasting sessions. Paul Smith entertained throughout the evening, talking through snippets about the whiskies being consumed, and also stories of how he ended up in this line of business.
The unique bottlings went down well among the guests. Each single malt whisky is specially selected and carefully bottled to the highest standards, all from famous distilleries and cannot be found on the high street. Perfect for the whisky connoisseurs present.
The treasurer of Brookfield Lodge bought one of the bottles, and sold raffle tickets in the aid of charity.
At the end of the night, all the bottles that had been sampled, were offered for sale. This offer was taken up by a number of those present.
