Man in red coat seen at Brookfield

Brookfield Hall ladies hosted another successful Christmas party for the children of members who meet at the hall.

Over 60 children, accompanied by adults, gathered with anticipation at probably their first party of the season. The atmosphere all day was electric as Magic Mark entertained them with lots of games, magic tricks, and even plate juggling,

The highlight of the day was the appearance of Father Christmas. Leaving his sleigh outside in the very special care of Rudolph, he made his grand entrance as the children sang Jingle Bells. He had a few words with the them and then made his way to his grotto where he spent time with each individual child to find out what they wanted for Christmas and if they had been naughty or nice!

Each visit finished with Father Christmas giving each child a gift and chance to take sweets from his tub. Once everyone had seen him, he bade a cheery farewell and with a ho! ho! ho! he and headed back to his elves at the North Pole to check on preparations for the big day.

Behind the scenes, the ladies worked extremely hard serving refreshments and homemade cakes to adults and children alike, and together with the raffle, raised much needed funds for the hall.

An exhausting but worthwhile day.
